Why Disciples Making Pastors Training?

  • Members are in millions but disciples are few

  • Many believers never move on to spiritual maturity

  •   225 pastors in 122 local churches are equipped their heads, hearts and hearts for making disciples in their local churches and beyond

  • Spiritual maturity of these 225 pastors is evidenced in their committed lives to go and disciple others both in words and deeds.

  • 1907 Ministry Leaders (ML) in Women, youth, and children ministry are discipled by the trainees and are discipling others in turn.

Leadership Development Training (LDT)

EKHC Key Leadership Development Training (LDT) program has been done for the last ten years focusing on the lay leadership development training in the church.

During those years, the LDT training brought remarkable results on the overall life of the church that motivated both the national office and the trainers to keep up the program. This program has been able to give training for 58000 lay leaders in the church.

However, in order to maintain the same changes in the very large churches like EKHC, having above seven thousand local churches in the Country, EKHC still need LDT.

The Reason EKHC Needs LDT

  • To bring an integrated and holistic change in the church leadership and the lives of the congregation through them.

  • To help the lay church leaders and pastors grow in spiritual knowledge and apply it in their local churches

  • To bridge the generation gap between the former leaders and young generations who are taking the leadership positions for EKHC is 80 years old.

  • To equip the church leaders for Great Commission.

 Accomplishments

 LDT was evidenced by the significant changes in the lives and ministry of the church leaders as well as in the lives of the congregation in the local churches as some of these results are;

  • The total expense of food and lodging of the trainees, including transportation is covered by the local churches.

  • Church Leaders who did not get opportunities to go to formal bible schools and trainings have got chances to grow spiritually and serve accordingly

  • God used this training to strengthen church unity for Great commission and discipleship.

  • Local Churches, which are not yet strengthened in far South, North, East and West Ethiopia are highly encouraged and visited by this program.

  • Churches leaders have been mobilized for Great Commission and are now mission minded.

  • Church leader and pastors have come to understand the need of appointing a pastor or pastors in local churches.

Future Plans

  • To continue the training for the coming three years (2009-2011) on more critical and contemporary issues for 12000 lay church leaders and pastors

  • To help the lay leaders and pastors in the church to cope up with the 21st century leadership by giving leadership reformation courses on discipleship and church ministry skills.

  • Making the training program more specific and evaluation based (80 centres in a year) to achieve at the proposed results.

  • To Promote reformed and effective leadership in the Church ministries

  • Developing a self sustainable and locally based system of Leadership Training for future
