1.Brief Historical Background: The Ethiopian Kale Heywet Church (EKHC) was established 75 years ago (1919) by people who were led by the spirit of God and who determined to live their entire life for the case of the gospel.  Wherever we think of the EKHC's history.  We never stop thinking, with great respect and appreciation the sacrifice willingly paid by these expatriate and local heroes of the gospel.  Let the name of the Lord be praised for "such great cloud of witnesses".  The seed they faithfully sowed has multiplied itself millions of times over the last seven decades.  Nothing could be more thrilling to the servants of God than hearing that the church planted seventy-five years ago has now become the mother of more than 5740 local churches having about five million members distributed in all corners of the country.  We praise the Lord for His blessing and the fast rate of Church planted.  The EKHC firmly believes that the future will see even more harvest.  The God who worked yesterday is still at work to bring about blessing up on His people and glory to Himself.

2. Vision: The Ethiopian Kale Heywet church is inspired by the vision of a world where all peoples have heard the gospel and live in the fullness of life provided by Jesus Christ.

  3. Mission Statement: Our mission is rooted into the Great Commission given by Jesus Christ.  the core of EKHC's mission is thus proclaiming the good News of Jesus Christ and His Kingdom to the peoples of Ethiopia and beyond to the ends of the earth in accordance with the great commission given by Jesus, so that people received eternal life, become Christ's disciples, and are fulfilled spiritually, socially, mentally and physically, to the glory of GOD.

  4. Core Value: EKHC's mission and faith are eternal, the doctrine (core value), on which the missions work and the faith are based, remain valid across generations.  The EKHC doctrine is entirely based on the teachings of the 66 books of the Holy Bible.

  5. Evangelism:  The very existence of EKHC is to declare the Good News of the Lord Jesus Christ so that the kingdom of God might be advanced throughout different nations, colours and languages in accordance with the Great Commission given by the Lord Jesus Christ.  Therefore, Evangelism is and continues to be the major activity and focus of the Church.  Although Ethiopia has been a Christian nation for centuries, there are a large number of people groups that have never heard the gospel message.

6. Discipleship and Church Growth: This sections has been established to conduct training on one-to-one evangelism and discipleship strategies.  Mission sponsorship training has also been conducted and thousands of people have been registered to contribute to the mission on regular basis.  The section is instrumental for ensuring the sustainability of evangelism and church growth by focusing on the mobilization of local resources.
