DMPT  Objectives

• To Disciple the Disciples Makers in the Churches

• Promoting Spiritual Maturity and encountering Nominal Christianity 

• Equipping the heads, hearts, and hands of the Disciple making pastors

• Making the leadership of the church catch the vision of discipleship

• Promoting discipleship in youth, women and children ministries

• Developing a sustainable locally based system of disciple making

DMPT Focus

 Life Changes: Changed lives become examples for others to follow toward Christ-likeness. The trainees will exhibit changed lives so that they will see the same in those who are being trained by them.

Biblical Knowledge: This is to help the trainees to be able to teach & train systematically towards making disciples makers.

Skill: This is to handle the pastoral ministry with care and wisdom in their local Churches.   The trainees learn skill in their ministry areas that makes them effective in their ministries.

Strategic Outreach: Trainees are to implement the training strategically and skillfully that will exhibit effectiveness in their ministries both in weekend ministries and three months stay.

Evaluation and Follow up

Evaluation

The peculiarity of DMPT is that it is evaluation based training. Among the evaluation systems, some are:-

• Changed lives and ministry effectiveness of the trainees will be evaluated by the regular confidential letter form the Church leaders.

• The trainers will have chances to go to the local Churches where the trainees are ministering to evaluate and motivate as mentors.

• Assignment that are given for the three months stay. The trainees are to read, write, train and teach in their Churches and report according to the ministry format given and a recommendation from their Church leaders.

• Constant and yearly evaluation by the external evaluation comprised of SIM and KHC that will cross-check the effectiveness of DMPT and both in the lives of the trainees as well as their local churches.

• Formation of self sustainable and similar training in the local churches through training Ministry Leaders (MLs).

Just as Paul in the Church of Ephesus trained disciples for two years (Acts 19),   Ethiopian KaleHeywet Church in partnership with SIM began discipling the disciplers focusing on disciples making Pastors. Disciples Making Pastors Training is a pilot project for only two years and will be evaluated highly for its effectiveness before it will be extended to other parts of the Church.

In order to motivate the pastors in the local churches for outreach ministries, Disciples Making Pastors Training focuses on practical works. The method and strategy that Disciples Making Pastors Training implement is: by lecturing, teaching, counseling, discussing, mentoring, and setting an exemplary life.  The Disciples Making Pastors Training trainers are well trained, highly experienced in disciples making, working in the church, ordained ministers in the church, exhibiting exemplary life, and working for results
